I have been enjoying my profession as a Licensed Professional Counselor for 24 years. I have had the privilege of working with many wonderful people. My practice is comprised of adults (individuals and couples) of varied ages and life stages. I believe we all have strength inside that pulls us toward health and enjoyment of life. My goal is to provide a safe environment for clients to look at and talk about their lives in order to better navigate difficult "curves or forks in the road", also known as life transitions. With positive or difficult changes in life circumstances, grief is often experienced. I have training and experience in the treatment of grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, improving communication and relationship skills.
I use a collaborative approach working with adult clients who are experiencing grief, life transitions, have chronic or situational depression, anxiety and trauma issues. I individualize my treatment for each client's particular needs. Sometimes we work on identifying and replacing negative beliefs, thoughts and behaviors. Through this process clients often change the way they think about and treat themselves and others. Sometimes we work on developing tools to regulate overwhelming emotions. Often clients wish to improve their own communication and relationships, and we focus on raising self- and other- awareness and self responsibility as well as clear communication.
